Professional Statement
I am currently a student studying at the University of Toronto in the faculty of Engineering. Much of my inspiration arises from my professors in this faculty who encourage me to establish my engineering philosophy and doctrine and to establish my reputation as a prospective professional engineer.
My career as a prospective professional engineer began in my high school years where I developed the many skill sets and attained the experience to create, develop and communicate ideas. Some of these experiences came from the projects that were required from me in my high school courses while others came from experiences I had whilst doing extracurricular activities. An example of an engineering experience I had may include working along with my partner to test LEDs and weld logic boards at the CompSci department at my high school. Generally speaking, it is during this time that I learned to use ideas, develop ideas and most importantly to communicate ideas.
My greatest strengths in the many tasks I have accomplished thus far are my willingness to work, individually or otherwise, my attention to detail, and my ability to stay focused. These attributes of mine have led me to acquire an exceptional understanding of problem identification, problem analysis, problem modeling and problem solving. When working individually, I am able stay serious and focused to accomplish the task at hand while in a team environment I offer a relaxed and easy going nature to dissipate the stress of the work which consequently leads to better results. Also, I am able to see a problem in multiple perspectives allowing me to cover many, if not all, aspects of a single problem. In addition to the aforementioned attributes, I am a creative thinker. I can appreciate the element of beauty in writings, drawings, paintings or any form of art. Thus, I am able to visualize and conceptualize ideas in many ways which gives me a variety of perspective and a better understanding of the problem and of the solution. Also, I am able to break down an idea and work towards a viable, yet creative solution to any given problem.
I have developed a modus operandi through which I hope to minimize the risks my lack of experience poses. Also, through my design process, I hope to reduce my young mind's tendency to resort to decision making based on intuition rather than progressive reasoning. And I look forward to develop my technical and professional expertise and become the ideal engineer.
In this portfolio I hope to communicate my engineering philosophy, process, and successes.
